A substantial antique gypsy ring in 9ct gold, with a pear-shaped ruby at the centre flanked by four round diamonds. Two larger brilliant-cut diamonds sit either side of the ruby, and a smaller diamond sits at each end. All five stones are set flush into a smooth, domed band. The stones are open-backed, so light can pass through them and the ring has a lively sparkle. The ruby’s deep red sits beautifully against the white diamonds, and the thick, rounded band gives the ring real weight and presence.
